# Helping Founders Find Their Voice

There is a massive difference between helping a founder build a pitch deck and helping them find their voice.For nearly a decade, I’ve focused entirely on the latter.Decks are transactional. A founder's voice is where conviction comes from. It’s getting clear about who they serve, what problem they're solving, why it matters now and why they are uniquely positioned to solve it.Over the past few months, I had the privilege of helping founders in Đà Nẵng and across Vietnam find that voice. Through mentoring sessions and workshops organized by the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center (DISSC) leading up to DAVAS 2026 - Danang Venture and Angel Submits, I worked alongside entrepreneurs as they challenged assumptions, clarified their thinking and built deeper conviction in the problems they are determined to solve.But what stayed with me most wasn't just individual breakthroughs. It was realizing that the entire local ecosystem is finding its voice, too.You can feel the momentum building in how all the pieces are coming together:📍 A shared direction: Universities, government and industry working hand-in-hand.📍 Real investment: Local and national support helping build critical infrastructure.📍 Growing reach: New partnerships forming both within Vietnam and internationally.There is a shared belief that meaningful companies can be built here. Just as importantly, there is a growing commitment to creating the conditions that let those voices be heard on a global stage.Perhaps my favorite moment of the week was watching my own co-founder, Jin Pei Ng, take the stage to pitch AIMSOO during the same week we launched AIMSOO Pro. After spending months helping other founders articulate their "why," it was a beautiful reminder that we are all still doing the exact same work ourselves.As the child of refugees, there was something profoundly full-circle about witnessing this in my mother's hometown. If you had told me twenty years ago that I would one day be helping founders find their voice in Đà Nẵng, I never would have believed you.The dragon is rising and it’s speaking clearly. I'm simply grateful to have a front-row seat. 🐉Thank you to the founders who trusted me with their stories, the DISSC team for the opportunity, my fellow mentors and everyone working to amplify the startup ecosystem in Central Vietnam.
