This was the first time all three of us as co-founders, Martin Bertilsson, Jin Pei Ng and I, had travelled together. We expected a week filled with investor meetings, product conversations and discussions about AI. We got all of that.

What surprised me was how consistently every conversation, regardless of who we were speaking with, converged on the same underlying shift: AI is rapidly becoming the interface between businesses and customers.

Some founders were building agents. Others were building infrastructure, commerce platforms or workflow automation. Different products, different markets, but underneath it all was the same question. What happens when AI becomes the primary way businesses are discovered, understood and recommended?

That question came up repeatedly throughout the week, and it was also at the heart of the Ads and AI gathering we hosted at the INSEAD San Francisco Hub. The conversations afterwards were just as valuable as the presentations themselves. People aren't debating whether AI is real anymore. They're asking harder questions. How do businesses remain visible when AI mediates discovery? How do trust and reputation change when recommendations increasingly come from machines? What infrastructure needs to exist so businesses of every size can participate?

For me, the biggest takeaway wasn't a new technology or product announcement. It was the growing conviction that AI isn't simply another channel. It's becoming the layer that sits between businesses and customers. If that's true, then the quality of information AI has access to, and which businesses it chooses to surface, become incredibly important.

Leaving San Francisco, I felt tired, grateful and more convinced than ever that we're working on the right problem at AIMSOO. The technology will continue to evolve. The need for businesses to be accurately understood won't.
